CCTV drain surveys across all of London
CCTV surveying is a cost-effective means to pinpoint the cause of drainage problems without the need to undertake expensive and inconvenient groundworks. Get a full report and footage copy on every survey.
The problem
When a blockage keeps coming back, there's usually a deeper cause
Recurring blockages in sections of pipe are often an indication of an underlying problem with the pipe itself. Excessive lime scale, cracks, displaced joints and collapsed pipes are not visible at ground level — which is where underground CCTV surveying technology comes into its own.
What we do
High-tech surveying, delivered by expert engineers
Our CCTV surveying teams are highly trained in the use of our hi-tech surveying equipment, sending the camera straight to the heart of the problem. Our equipment identifies the cause of any problem, the distance from the camera insertion point (usually a manhole), and the overall condition of the pipe.
The CCTV equipment also ascertains the general condition of pipes, giving us a clear indication as to additional preventative maintenance — for example, descaling and flushing through.
Included with our CCTV service is a full report containing a detailed analysis and a copy of the survey footage provided on CD/DVD for review at your leisure. The report can also be provided as a PDF if preferred.
Camera insertion
A high-resolution camera is inserted, usually via a manhole, and guided through the pipe system to film conditions in real time.
Precise location data
Any defect or blockage is reported with its exact distance from the insertion point, so engineers know exactly where to act.
Full written report & footage
Every survey includes a detailed written analysis and a copy of the footage on CD/DVD or digital file — available as a PDF on request.
What we detect
Drainage issues our CCTV surveys uncover
No two drainage systems are the same. Our cameras identify exactly what's happening inside your pipes so the right fix can be applied first time.
Blockages & silt build-up
Identifies the exact location and extent of a blockage, including accumulated silt, grease, or debris that is restricting flow.
Cracked & collapsed pipes
Structural damage from ground movement, age, or heavy vehicles is invisible from above — CCTV finds it without any digging.
Displaced joints
Joints that have shifted out of alignment allow ingress of silt and roots and are a common cause of recurring blockages.
Root intrusion
Tree and shrub roots frequently penetrate older clay pipes. CCTV confirms the presence and scale of root intrusion before cutting begins.
Lime scale & corrosion
Heavy lime scale deposits narrow pipe diameter over time. The survey determines whether descaling, lining, or replacement is the most effective remedy.
Maintenance recommendations
Beyond defects, the survey highlights sections of pipe that would benefit from preventative treatment before problems develop.
